Most people didn’t really care about the ingredients in the food they were consuming. However, with the passage of time, awareness began to spread and people began to realise the importance of consuming foods that were healthy and actually met your physical daily requirements. Most of the junk food that you find in the market, such as chips and burgers don’t provide your body with its daily requirement of nutrients. Even the natural foods that you find in the market, such as vegetables, chicken and meat, are not as “natural” as they seem.

For instance, hormones are injected into chickens in order to increase the aging process. However, the use of chemicals and harmful substances has shown to cut out the health benefits offered by the same foods. No Pesticides

Many chemicals used in conventional agriculture, such as pesticides, insecticides and fungicides, are not used in producing organic food. Instead, companies use solely natural products. This provides a double effect: first of all, it mitigates the amount of chemicals found in natural foods, and second, it reduces the number of harmful chemicals being disseminated in the environment. Not only are you playing your role in saving the environment, but you are also consuming food that is healthier.

Nutrient-Dense Food

Another reason why organic food is better is because it contains more nutrients. According to a study that was conducted by the State of Science Review, organic food contains more ingredients as compared to non-organic food. If you want to maintain your health and fitness, you should seriously make a grocery list containing organic foods.

Fresher

Because it doesn’t contain any chemicals or artificial ingredients, organic food is brought on the market and sold as quickly as possible. What’s left is recycled in different ways. The number one reason why a store’s organic food is so much fresher than ordinary food items is because it doesn’t any preservatives, leading to a significantly shorter shelf life. It’s mostly produced on smaller farms and is privately sold in different shops.

GMO-Free

Genetically-modified organisms, or genetically engineered plants are widely grown in conventional agriculture. Their DNA is altered to make them more resistant to pesticides or produce a natural insecticide. However, this goes against the laws of nature. If you don’t want to worry about genetic modifications, organic food is again an excellent choice. It’s GMO-free, doesn’t contain any growth hormones or antibiotics, and is completely natural. It’s also richer in certain nutrients.
